12-year-old girl  dies after girder  falls over her

ATTOCK – A 12-year-old girl died when a girder fell over her on a CPEC bridge near Naka Ghulam Shah in the limits of Pindigheb police station. Police on the complaint of the father of the deceased girl have registered an FIR against GM NHA, proprietor of a private company ZKB, Haji Ahmad Khan, Project Manager, Site Engineer and driver of the trailer. Khitab Gul r/o Naka Ghulam Shah told Pindigheb police that his daughter was passing near a CPEC flyover when a truck loaded with an excavator hit the flyover. In result, a girder of the flyover bridge fell over his daughter resulting in her instant death. Khitab Gul told police that the above mentioned personnel are responsible for the death of his daughter. Police on the complaint of Khitab Gul has registered an FIR and started investigation. Soon after the mishap, a large number of people started protest against the CPEC authorities and the proprietor of ZKB company and kept the road blocked for almost two hours. They alleged that the girl lost her life because of negligence. They demanded that the family of the girl will be given compensation, safety officer be appointed on the under-construction CPEC and safety fence will be erected on the sides of the bridge.
