RAWALPINDI – City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas has removed three station house officers from their offices on Tuesday, informed sources on Tuesday.
The move was made by the city police chief following the orders of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Inam Ghani not to appoint the police officers as SHO who have a criminal record, they said.
According to details, CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas has removed the three SHOs in compliance with directions of provincial police chief. Those police officers who were removed by CPO were identified as Sub Inspector (SI) Tahir Rehan (serving SHO Police Station Sadiqabad), Sub Inspector (SI) Syed Jawad Shah (SHO PS Airport) and Inspector Muhammad Khan (SHO PS Mandra), they said.
A notification in this regard has also been issued by the CPO, they mentioned.
A police spokesman, however, when contacted, confirmed the development.
He added all the police officers removed by CPO have been given clean chits in the cases. He said their record have been dispatched to IG office for further orders.
