LAHORE – An exhibition cricket match will be played here tomorrow (Sunday) to pay tribute to late former Test cricketer Abdul Qadir. Ali Saif of Saga Sports, flanked with Test cricketers Abdul Rehman and Imran Nazir, said this while addressing a press conference here at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday. “Former famous cricketers will participate in the match. The first exhibition match to be organized by Saga Sports is a tribute to the country’s famous leg spinner. Leading national and international cricketers will take part in the match, which will be played on Sunday. The participants will also include Azhar Ali, Imran Nazir, Abdul Rehman, Rana Naveed ul Hassan, Humayun Farhat, Imran Farhat and top female players from both the teams.” On the occasion, Test cricketer Abdul Rehman said: “It is a very good initiative which will pay tribute to the services of famous players of the past. Late Abdul Qadir has great services for Pakistan to which tribute is to be paid.” Test cricketer Imran Nazir welcomed the holding of the match to pay tribute to Abdul Qadir and said that the series should have started much earlier.
