Gang of four robbers busted

KARACHI – Karachi police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a four-member gang involved in heinous crimes including street crimes in Sharafi Goth. According to police, a Sharafi Goth police team conducted a raid on a tip-off and arrested the gang members identified as Liaqat Khan, Imran, Ashfaq and Abdul Majeed. The police said the gang was also involved in motorcycle lifting. “Two pistols used in the incident along with loaded magazines and snatched mobile phones were also recovered from the arrested accused,” the police claimed. They also said that four motorcycles stolen by the arrested accused were taken into the custody. They added that cases of stealing motorcycles recovered from the accused had been registered against unknown accused in Landhi and Korangi Industrial Area police stations. The arrested suspects are professional criminals and have been jailed for serious crimes and cases have been registered against the arrested gang leader Liaqat for firing on police, they further said. The accused gang was involved in snatching valuables and motorcycles from citizens across the city, including Malir district, the police said. The cases have been registered against the accused while weapons recovered from the accused were sent for forensic examination.
