KARACHI – Sindh Health Department has enhanced the screening and testing capacity of coronavirus (COVID-19) suspected cases in Karachi division and District Health Officer (DHO) has been instructed to conduct at least 600 PCR tests per day. Sources at Sindh Health Department told PPI that screening and testing of COVID suspected cases had been increased after a surge in corona cases in Punjab and other provinces. The DHOs have been directed to perform 600 PCR tests each day. Eelier, each DHO was conducting an average 200 PCR tests per day. About 3,600 PCR tests will be performed in Karachi division to observe spread of COVID-19 in the metropolitan. Director Health Karachi at Directorate Health Services, Dr Ismail Memon, while talking to media, confirmed that screening and testing of COVID-19 suspected cases had been increased in the city following rise in corona cases in other provinces.
