peshawar – Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar, Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Zia-ul-Haq, has said that KMU is implementing a plan for revolutionary reforms in the fields of Allied Health Sciences and Nursing Education.
He expressed these views while presiding over a special meeting to improve the quality of Allied Health Sciences and Nursing Education.
The VC said that as KMU is the sole medical university of the province, it has a dual responsibility to improve the quality of medical, allied health and nursing education as well as regulate medical education in various fields. The KMU’s mandate also includes monitoring the curriculum, assessment and clinical audit of public and private medical educational institutions affiliated with the university and taking necessary steps to bring these fields up to international standards.
The vice chancellor said that reforms in curriculum and teaching methods were not only need of the hour but also a fundamental requirement for a revolutionary change in the health sector in the province.
