Missile, explosives recovered in Tirah

PESHAWAR  –  Personnel of Counter–Terrorism Department (CTD), along with an intelligence agency, recovered a huge quantity of explosives during a raid in Tirah valley of Khyber tribal district on Friday.

An official said that the raid was conducted after the CTD received a tip-off about presence of TTP militants having explosives in a deserted house in Shaloberkhel area of Tirah valley.  Three militant commanders, identified as Muhammad Asif and Gul Amin, hailing from Khyber, and Commander Shehzad Gul, hailing from Peshawar, managed their escape from the scene during the raid.

However, the personnel recovered a Russian-made missile, 1600 bullets, seven hand grenades, two RPG shells, artillery fuse and bullets, and walkie-talkie phone.
