PPP leaders express solidarity with Palestinians

ISLAMABAD – On the instruction of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the PPP Secretary General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf visited the Palestinian Embassy in Islamabad to express solidarity with Palestinians against Israeli barbarism.

Nayyar Bukhari and Raja Pervez Ashraf in a meeting with the Palestinian Ambassador assured PPP’s full support and solidarity with the Palestinian people.

They said the PPP and the Pakistani people stood with Palestinians in this hour of need. The international community should take steps to stop Israeli barbarism and violence against unarmed Palestinians. International human rights organisations should increase pressure to stop Israeli atrocities.

Nayyar Bukhari said that the international community’s silence on the ongoing atrocities was worrying. Violence against Palestinians should be stopped immediately, Nayyar Bukhari said, adding that the PPP leadership had always condemned Israel for its illegal occupation of Palestinian land.

Nayyar Bukhari said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto raised the issue of Palestine in the United Nations for the first time. Former prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed their support for the solution of the Palestinian issue. Nayyar Bukhari said the PPP would raise the issue of Palestine at every international forum under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that the PPP stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of Palestine and would continue to highlight the issue of Palestine through diplomatic means. The PPP, he said, would also raise the issue of ongoing Israeli atrocities in Palestine in the Parliament.
