Rain, flood  affectees  compensated in Tank

tank-Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kabeer Afridi yesterday distributed cheques worth of Rs 15 lakh for the compensation of heirs of the victims of power short circuit and natural calamities. 

During a ceremony held here at the DC office, an amount of Rs. 12 lac was distributed among the heirs of the victims who died during natural calamities and power short circuit in city and adjacent areas. While an amount of Rs 3 lakh compensation was given to the people who faced losses and their houses were damaged during the torrential rains and floods. 

In his remarks, DC Kabeer Afridi said that the district administration is providing financial assistance to the affected people and their families in the light of the report of the compensation committee.

He said that the committee was constituted for the compensation of citizens who faced losses during the natural calamities, adding that the district administration is taking practical steps in accordance with the policy of PDMA. 

He also said that the merit policy of the provincial government is being strictly implemented to ensure timely relief to the affected people.
