Record collection made in royalties head: CM

LAHORE – “The Mines and Minerals Department has made a record collection in the head royalties for the financial year 2020-21,” said Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. He said that for the first time in the history of the province, the Mines and Minerals Department had collected an amount of Rs10.19 billion, adding that an amount of Rs580 million was also received in the head of excise duty. He said that the department had shown outstanding performance, adding that the current government had empowered every department and their secretaries to deliver. He further stated that the strategy had yielded positive results as independence of departments improved their performance significantly. He said: “In past, the independence of departments was usurped through one-man-show, and departments and institutions were destroyed through unnecessary interference.”
