Several citizens deprived of cash, valuables

ISLAMABAD   –  Armed dacoits deprived many citizens including females of mobile phones, cash, gold ornaments and other valuables, informed sources on Tuesday.

Similarly, the auto theft gangs pilfered five cars and four motorcycles from different localities of Islamabad. Two women were kidnapped, they said. Police have registered cases on complaints of victims and started investigation, according to a police spokesman.

A citizen Said Muhammad lodged complaint with Police Station Sabzi Mandi that two armed dacoits riding on motorcycle snatched cash Rs40,000 from him at I-10 and fled, informed sources. They said two armed dacoits also intercepted Muhammad Usama at G-8/2 on gunpoint and snatched two mobile phones from him. The incident took place in area of PS Karachi Company. Muhammad Aslam told Lohi Bher police that armed dacoits snatched mobile phone from him at PWD, whereas, Muhammad Asif informed Koral police that two armed dacoits deprived him of his motorcycle at Barma Bridge, sources added. Wahid Mehmood lodged complaint with PS Koral that armed men snatched mobile and purse containing Rs19,500 from his wife at Thanda Pani area. A gang of unknown robbers mugged cash, gold and other valuables from the house of Javed Iqbal located at E-11/2, the precinct of PS Golra, said sources adding that Muhammad Liaqat lodged complaint with PS Bara Kahu stating unknown robbers stole cash from his shop. 

Similarly, auto theft gangs picked up four cars and five motorcycles from the areas of police stations Margalla, Industrial Area, Bhara Kahu, Ramna, Sabzi Mandi, Kohsar and Sihala. Likewise, two women were kidnapped from precincts of police stations Industrial Area and Shehzad Town, they said.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Dr Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that Islamabad Police was taking strict action against anti-social elements and those involved in unlawful activities. Following directions from IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, he said Islamabad police is taking every possible step to secure the city and ensure safety and security of its citizens. According to details, under the supervision of SP (Sadder Zone) police team headed by SHO Karachi Company arrested four kite sellers namely Sajjad, Sajad, Bilal and Sham Zaib and recovered 541 kites and strings recovered from their possession.

In another activity, Lohibher police arrested three Dayam Tariq, Abdul Rauf and Qasir Raiz and recovered three wine bottles from their possession. Shahzad Town police arrested accused Bakhat Muhammad and recovered heroin from him. Shalimar police arrested accused Raheel Mehmood and recovered 15 litres alcohol from him. Sabzi Mandi police arrested accused Muddsar involved in theft.  Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.

During special campaign against absconders, police teams arrested two absconders involved in heinous crimes.

DIG (Operations) and SSP (Operations) have appreciated this overall performance of police team.

SSP (Operations) emphasised that kite flying is life threatening, unlawful and can ruin someone’s life. He appealed citizens to avoid kite flying/selling and cooperate with police.

SSP (Operations) reiterated that ICT Police is accelerating all-out efforts to curb crime and secure capital.
