Shopkeeper shot dead in dacoity bid

Islamabad   –   shopkeeper was shot dead by unknown dacoits during a dacoity bid while three persons have been kidnapped from different areas of capital, informed sources on Thursday.

Armed dacoits deprived scores of citizens including a woman, who was going to PIMS for getting corona vaccine, of cash, gold ornaments, mobile phones and other valuables on gunpoint. Robbers also burgled houses and auto theft gangs picked away four cars and nine motorcycles in different strikes from Islamabad, they said.

According to sources, Tauseef Khurshid lodged complaint with Police Station (PS) Khana stating Nahim Khan was sitting in his milk shop at Nehmat Town of Pindorian when two unknown dacoits riding a motorcycle appeared from somewhere. The dacoits attempted to rob Nahim Khan and started firing on him when he showed resistance. Resultantly, Nahim died while the dacoits managed to escape from the scene. Locals rushed to the shop and moved the body to PIMS for autopsy. Khana police registered murder case against unknown dacoits and started investigation, sources said.

Two men and a woman were allegedly kidnapped from the limits of police stations Karachi Company, Sihala and Golra. Police registered separate cases against the kidnappers and started investigation, sources said.

According to sources, armed dacoits stormed into shop of Fazal Elahi at Ali Pur and snatched mobile phones on gunpoint in the precinct of PS Shehzad Town. Another citizen Yasim Zulfiqar told PS Koral that he was deprived of mobile phone by two dacoits.

Adeel Anjum of G-15/3 lodged complaint with PS Tarnol that unidentified robbers burgled gold and cash from his house and fled.

Sources said Fatima Bashir was going to PIMS for getting corona vaccine when unknown dacoits dragged her in a car and snatched gold earrings and Rs 50000 cash from her. The incident took place in precinct of PS Karachi Company.

Another citizen Arshad Mehmood appeared before PS Khana officials and told two dacoits ridding on a motorcycle, snatched his motorcycle and mobile and fled while leaving their motorcycle on road.

On the other hand, the auto theft gangs launched a looting spree in the federal capital and pilfered four vehicles and nine motorcycles in last 48 hours. The vehicles and motorbikes were lifted by the auto theft gangs from the areas of police stations Sabzi Mandi, Koral, Gorla, Aabpara, Karachi Company, Sabzi Mandi, industrial Area, Tarnol and Kohsar, sources said. Police registered cases and started investigation, they said.

In Rawalpindi, two armed dacoits snatched cash Rs 75000 from two shopkeepers namely Zubair Ahmed and Imad Jillani Nigahil in Gujar Khan. The dacoits shot and punctured the motorcycle of shopkeepers to avoid being chased by the victims. Similarly, two robbers stormed into house of Muhammad Nazir at Malala when he was out for Magrib prayer. The robbers tortured the daughter of Nazir and snatched gold ornaments and Rs 1.5 million and fled. Gujar Khan police registered separate cases and started investigation with no arrests or recovery so far.
