Two die, eight injured as car collides with rickshaw

KASUR  – Two brothers were killed and eight others suffered injuries in a road accident in Pakki Haveli Ferozepur Road area near Kasur on Thursday. 

A police spokesperson said their car was going to Lahore from Kasur. Due to over-speeding, their car col­lided with a rickshaw and a motor­bike near Pakki Haveli. 

As a result, two motorcyclists — Sha­hid Mumtaz, 27, and Shakeel Mumtaz, 32, died on the spot. Eight other per­sons — Umair (20), Asif (24), Rashid (23), Arif (48), Ali Anis (18), Waqar Liaqat (22), and two unidentified persons received serious injuries. District Emergency Officer (DEO) Res­cue-1122 Kasur Engineer Sultan Mah­mood, along with his team, reached the accident site after receiving infor­mation and shifted the bodies and the injured to District Headquarters Hos­pital Kasur. Mustafabad police were busy in investigation. 


The district administration sealed four marriage halls, two restau­rants and two bakers over violation of the coronavirus related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), here on Thursday. 

AC Aurangzeb Sadhu while taking action against non-compliance of co­rona SOPs across the district, sealed two restaurants -Al Fazal Restaurant and Akbar Khan Restaurant while two bakeries, including Khalil Bakery and Lahore Bakery, and four wedding halls had been sealed. 

Meanwhile, three persons had been taken into custody and cases had been registered.
