LAHORE – City police on Monday claimed to have arrested a man who fled after throwing the body of a student outside a teaching university in Lahore the other day. The arrest was made with the help of CCTV footage, police investigators said.
The deceased was the resident of district Gujrat and she was studying at a private university located in Lahore’s Nawab Town police station.
The suspect was identified by police as Usama, said to be a student of the same the Government College University. On Monday at 12:40 am, two unidentified suspects fled after throwing her body in the emergency ward of a private hospital in Raiwind.
As hospital staff informed the authorities, police began probing the incident. Police spotted the suspects in the CCTV footage. One was driving the car while the other was carrying the victim’s body in his hands.
Police were tipped off about the vehicle’s license plate number after which they found details of the car’s owner. Usama’s house was then raided. The suspect has confessed to the killing of the ‘pregnant’ student. Reportedly, the girl came to Lahore to get child aborted from a private clinic. However, during the operation, her condition got deteriorated and she was then taken to hospital. A private TV channel reported Monday evening that the girl died due to excessive bleeding. The police are investigating the incident.
